Momentas

MOMENTAS / THE PRACTICAL PART

A little guidance.
Your own way.

Create your first memory card, bring it to your home screen, and learn how reminders and optional backups work.

Start with one meaningful date. Add the details that make it yours, then keep it close with a widget or a gentle reminder. No Momentas account is needed; Google sign-in is used only for optional Drive backup and restore.

Create your first moment

  1. On the Home screen, tap the Camera icon for a quick capture, or the + button for the full editor.
  2. Add a title, date and time, and the unit you want to display.
  3. Add any extras you want: a photo, voice note, written note, location, Spotify track, notification, ritual, or repeat setting.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top to save.

You can start with just the date and title. Return to the editor whenever you want to add more context.

Edit and organize your memories

Open a moment and tap Edit to make changes. From Home, long-press a card or open its menu for actions such as favorite, widget, or delete.

To delete a moment, open its menu and choose Delete. A widget that used that moment can no longer display it and may ask for a new selection.

Keep a moment on your home screen

  1. Open your Android home screen’s Widgets picker.
  2. Choose a Momentas widget and place it on your home screen.
  3. Select the moment you want it to display.
  4. To change it later, open a moment in the app, tap Use in Widget, and select the existing widget to update.

Removing a widget removes its home-screen display. The memory itself remains in Momentas.

Use rituals and Daily Summary

A ritual is a repeated reminder connected to a moment. Open the moment, add or adjust its ritual details, then save. Use it for an anniversary, a weekly check-in, or another meaningful routine.

Daily Summary is a notification sent at your chosen time with up to five selected personal moments. Manage notifications and the summary time in Settings.

Personalize the experience

Settings includes the theme, ring style, detail-card shape, notifications, biometric lock, screenshot behavior, photo display, and camera location behavior.

Make these choices around how you want to see and revisit your memories. Labels and available options can vary by app version and device.

Back up and restore

Open Settings → Google Drive Backup if you want a recovery copy in your own Google account. Backup is optional and can include supported personal cards, reminders, rituals, photos, and voice notes.

Restore brings back supported content from the backup connected to your Google account. Review the backup and restore status before changing devices or clearing local data. Backup and restore need an internet connection.

Turning backup off stops future automatic backups. It does not delete the memories already on your device. Manage existing backup files separately in Google Drive.

Premium and purchase restore

Premium is a one-time Google Play purchase. To recover access, use Restore Purchases with the same Google Play account that owns the purchase.

Restoring a purchase and restoring your memories are separate actions. Use Drive restore for backed-up app content.

Common questions

Can I use Momentas without internet or backup?

Local memories work without an internet connection. Google Drive backup, restore, and purchase restore need a connection. You can use Momentas without connecting Drive.

What happens if I disconnect Google Drive?

Your local personal moments remain on the device unless you remove them or clear app data. Disconnecting backup is different from deleting your memories.

What if a widget looks empty?

Open Momentas, choose a personal memory for the widget, and allow it to refresh. If its previous memory was deleted, choose another one.

What happens if I clear app data?

Local Momentas data can be removed. Recovery depends on whether you have a usable backup connected to your Google account. Check your backup before clearing data.
